Welcome to Seipäjärvi – we warmly invite you as a guest to our home!
We’ll brew fresh coffee and serve local pastries by the fire in our cozy kota hut. Here, you’ll experience the peace and silence of an authentic old Lappish village, where history breathes through every day.

You’ll have the chance to observe the northern sky’s phenomena while lying on reindeer hides or walking with us under lantern light – slowly and peacefully, just as life has always been lived here. The village, free from light and noise pollution, offers ideal conditions for watching the northern lights. The magical moment of quiet darkness and lantern-lit atmosphere is truly unforgettable.

A fire burns in the kota throughout the evening to keep you warm and comfortable. We’ll also grill sausages, serve warm drinks, and offer delicious pastries.

Please note: the northern lights may not appear every evening, but the peaceful nature and other celestial phenomena ensure each night is a unique experience.

You’ll see how we live – and how generations before us have lived. Our house also features local history and art. We have two friendly dogs you’re welcome to pet.

So, whatever the weather, we live in harmony with nature. Sometimes it snows or rains, but we believe you’ll enjoy your time with us regardless – you are warmly welcome!

  • Skywatching takes place by the lake shore, on the frozen lake, or walking through the village
  • A kota hut is located approx. 100 m from the shore, where you can warm up by the fire
