You will arrive at the old village store in Seipäjärvi, where your local hostess Virve will greet you with coffee or juice and traditional local pastries — as is customary here when welcoming guests. You will be introduced to the location and its surroundings, with stories about local history, antiques, and even paintings by local artist Toivo Pekkala on display.
Next, we move towards the lakeshore via the old manor. The log walls of the 19th-century buildings exude history, offering a glimpse into how generations have lived here over the years.
By the lakeshore (about 200 meters away), you can:
– Swim in natural waters
– Fish from the dock or a boat
– Listen to the hostess sing or enjoy performances by local musicians
– Participate in easy games and competitions
– Take a short boat ride on a traditional seine netting raft, offering views of Seipävaara and the village
As you stroll along the lakeshore or through the peaceful village paths, you will experience the calm and silence that surrounds both locals and visitors alike.
By an open fire at the shore or inside a hut (kota), we grill sausages and enjoy cold beverages — the kind of life the hostess herself enjoys and now wishes to share with you.
Finally, we return to the old store, where you have the opportunity to purchase small local products.
In case of rain, more indoor activities will be arranged — there’s still plenty to experience. You are most warmly welcome; Virve greets all guests with open arms.
